  1. v3.3.1 October 11, 2026 Latest

    More flexible scheduled expenses and incomes

    This release answers what you asked for in your reports.

    New
    • If a scheduled expense or income doesn’t always have the same amount, turn off “Automatic Payment” or “Automatic Collection”. It stays active and keeps counting in your totals, but the app no longer records it by itself: it shows as pending on the home screen until you record it with the real amount. The info icon next to the switch reminds you.
    • If the amount changes every month, record it with the real value: open the menu of the scheduled expense or income, choose to record it now and type the amount.
    • Scheduled expenses and incomes now have subcategories and tags.
    Improved
    • The form to create a scheduled expense or income now has the same fields, in the same order, as the form to record an expense or income, also when you set up the app for the first time.
    • The app asks you to confirm before deleting a scheduled expense or income.
    • You can ask the agent to record the payment of a pending expense or the collection of a pending income.
    Fixed
    • Amounts in dirhams (AED) and other currencies whose symbol has a dot looked cut off. They now show correctly.

    Tags, support chat and categories your way

    This release brings new ways to organize your money and a direct line to us. Group spending from different categories with tags, reorganize your categories without losing anything and write to the SpendlyAI team without leaving the app.

    New
    • Tag your transactions to group them by context across categories: lunch stays in Food but carries the “Beach trip” tag. Manage tags just like categories and filter your search by them.
    • Ask the agent to create tags, apply them to one or many transactions at once, remove them or tell you how much you spent on each.
    • Chat directly with the SpendlyAI team and get the answer in the same conversation. Open it from the home screen or from Contact us in Help and privacy. You need an account.
    • Move a subcategory to another category or make it a main one, turn a category into a subcategory, or merge two categories: transactions, recurring items and limits move with them.

    Easier automatic logging setup

    This update adapts automation setup to iOS 27 and makes everyday tasks clearer, from choosing apps for automatic logging to checking a newly scheduled transaction.

    Improved
    • We adjusted the automation setup flow for iOS 27 users. Apple Pay, message and email tutorials show videos matched to your iOS version.
    • On Android, the search field stays visible while you scroll through the apps you can choose for automatic logging.
    Fixed
    • After turning a transaction into recurring income, an expense or a transfer, saving now takes you to the corresponding scheduled list so you can check it.
    • Fixed an additional startup issue that could still prevent the app from opening on some Android phones.

    A steadier release, with your streak in full view

    This update is mostly about the app not letting you down: we fixed unexpected closures on iPhone and Android, including one that hit right when you saved. Along the way, the ranking now shows where you stand.

    • Notices stay on screen for less time and tutorial videos play more smoothly on Android.
    Fixed
    • Fixed the app closing on its own on some iPhones. It could happen at any moment, and the cause was in a library we depend on.
    • Fixed the app failing to open at all on some Android phones.
    • Fixed the app closing when you saved a transaction you had opened from the home screen widget.
    • Fixed the screen staying open after confirming a deletion in transactions, transfers, pockets and yields.

    Your consistency now comes with rewards

    Checking your finances each day deserves a little celebration. Build your streak, earn coins and make your profile your own. And for everyday tasks, sharing a transaction with the agent or scheduling it is now closer at hand.

    New
    • Confirm your daily review to earn streak days and coins, even when there are no transactions. Reach milestones for rewards and use protectors to keep your streak if you miss a day.
    • Join the worldwide ranking with your alias and confirmed days. You choose whether to appear, and your finances stay private.
    • Use your coins to get frames in the shop or try the roulette. Browse your collection and choose a frame for your profile.
    • Share existing transactions with the agent or attach them to the chat to ask about them without entering their details again.
    • Make a transaction recurring while editing it and check the schedule already linked to it.
    Improved
    • The first steps help you set up accounts, income, bills and a budget with suggestions based on your situation.
    • See your active shared space on Home and open its settings with one tap.
    • The community loads more posts as you browse and tells you when you need a connection to continue.

    A new look for your debts, and the app now turns on a tablet

    The debt detail has a new design: everything on a single surface, with what you have paid, what is left and the next instalments all in view. The debt simulator is one tap away from the list, and the app now works turned sideways and on large screens without anything stretching.

  10. v2.8.0 August 23, 2026

    Your categories, now with subcategories, and your data from Excel or other apps

    Categories now take subcategories, so you can go from Food down to Groceries or Restaurants without filling the list with loose categories. Pockets and the movement search also get a new design, bringing your data from another app fits in a spreadsheet, and you can see what is new and tell us what breaks without leaving the app. And you can now set your card’s interest rate and monthly fee, so the minimum payment matches your bank’s.

    Your payment alerts log themselves

    Automatic logging no longer depends on notifications alone: if your bank alerts you by email or by text, those alerts also become entries waiting for your approval. And you can connect as many banks as you want, one for each sender that writes to you. Plus a quick actions widget with the shortcuts you choose.

    • Automatic logging from your emails: the payment alerts that reach your inbox become entries to approve.
    • Automatic logging from your texts on Android, with its own setup: pick your messaging app and you are done.
    • Choose which mail app it should work with, with the default one already marked.
    • Connect several banks: on iPhone you can add one automation per sender that alerts you, and they all use the same shortcut.
    • When you finish setting up a channel we show you how to add the next bank, without repeating every step.
    • A quick actions widget for your home screen: six shortcuts, and you pick which ones out of eighteen.
    • Drag them in the preview to set the order, and add the widget to your home screen from the app itself.
    Improved
    • The automatic logging screen shows each route separately —notifications, texts and email— and tells you which one is on.
    Fixed
    • Expense and income charts now draw on any period: before, with 90 days or more, they came up empty even when you had movements.
    • Those charts group by day, week or month depending on the period you pick, so they neither pile up nor collapse into three lonely dots.
    • The counter of days with movement now counts over the whole period, not only over the days that had spending.
    • Backup files open from the file manager again on Android.
    • The assistant no longer lands on an error screen when you open it with a conversation already going.

    Every bank writes from its own sender, so the idea is that you add them all and forget about it. Tell us how yours reaches you: notification, text or email.

  12. v2.6.0 August 19, 2026

    Your budget, on your home screen

    Widgets are here. Put how much of your budget you have used or what you have spent and received this period straight on your home screen, and add the assistant one to write to it or send it a photo without opening the app. And you can now schedule transfers between your accounts so they repeat on their own.

    New
    • An assistant widget with camera, gallery and files, to tell it something without opening the app.
    • A widget that tells you how much of this period's budget you have used and how many days are left.
    • A widget with what you have spent and received in your budget period.
    • Scheduled transfers, to move money between your accounts every week, every month or whenever you say, without having to remember.
    • Each scheduled transfer keeps its fee and its exchange rate, and warns you in the app before it goes out.
    Improved
    • The assistant tutorial teaches you to ask for several things at once.
    • The app can be used end to end with a screen reader: every button announces itself, errors are read out loud, and animations shorten if you have reduce motion turned on.
    Fixed
    • An unexpected crash when dismissing a notice while moving between screens.
    • The days shown by periods and projections now add up: a 30-day range is 30 days, and a week is 7.

    The widgets came from wanting to see the budget without opening anything. If you share your screen with someone, try the one that shows the least: tell us which ended up on your home screen.

    Your budget starts on the day you say

    You now choose the exact day each budget period begins: your payday, a Monday, whatever fortnight you live by. On top of that, your Apple account now works on Android too, and you can log transfers by voice.

    New
    • Choose your budget's start day: the day of the week if it is weekly, the two days of the month if it is fortnightly, or the day of the month for monthly, quarterly and yearly.
    • Sign in with Apple on Android too: the same account, on any phone.
    • Transfers by voice: tell Siri or the Google Assistant that you moved money between your accounts and it is saved as a transfer, not as an expense.
    Improved
    • Siri and the Google Assistant understand more ways of saying things: new phrases for expenses, income and transfers in every language the app speaks.
    • The category list now lets you pick the period you want to see each category's usage for.
    Fixed
    • The app no longer closes on launch in some languages.
    • Voice logging with the Google Assistant no longer fails on some Android phones.
    • Buying or restoring the subscription now tells you when something goes wrong, instead of staying silent.

    A budget that starts on payday was one of the most repeated requests. Try it with your own pay cycle and tell us how it fits — that decides what comes next.

    Log your expenses without opening the app

    Ask Siri or the Google Assistant to note an expense and SpendlyAI leaves it ready for you to approve. And what logs itself arrives better: it recognises your transfers and you approve everything at once.

    New
    • Voice logging: tell Siri or the Google Assistant to note an expense or an income and it waits for your approval, without opening SpendlyAI.
    • Automatic logging now recognises transfers between your own accounts and saves them as a transfer, not as an expense.
    • Approve everything the app logged for you in one go, and when it’s done we tell you how many movements went through, which didn’t and why.
    • Category usage: each one shows you how many movements it holds, what share of your spending it takes and how much it adds up to, and you can sort them by most used, by amount or by name.
    Improved
    • Voice notes for the assistant can now be paused and resumed, discarded on the spot, and they tell you how much time you have left.
    Fixed
    • The keyboard no longer covers the forms that slide up from the bottom, and on iPhone the celebration sound is back.

    Asking Siri to note an expense is the closest we have been to the books keeping themselves. Tell us what else you would like to be able to say — that shapes the next version.

  15. v2.4.0 August 4, 2026

    The household books, in one place

    Couple and Family mode is here: a second space you share with whoever you choose, with its own accounts, transactions and budgets. What’s yours stays yours and never mixes with the space.

    New
    • Shared space: create one with the Couple plan, for two people, or the Family plan, for up to five, and share accounts, transactions and budgets.
    • Everything updates in real time: when someone logs a movement, everyone else sees it right away, with nobody having to report it.
    • When you create the space you choose whether to copy your current data; it’s duplicated there and yours stays untouched.
    • Invite with a six-character code or with a link that opens the app straight on the invitation. Joining is free.
    • A single subscription covers the whole space: every member gets full Premium, including on their own personal finances.
    • Switch between your finances and the space whenever you want, and as the owner you decide who comes in and who goes.
    Improved
    • We redesigned the plans screen: you see at a glance what each one includes and how many people it’s for.
    • If someone invited you, the code box sits right at the top, with no need to scroll past the plans.
    • Changing plans honours what you already paid for, and the change applies when it should.
    • A note inside the app now tells you what’s new in each version, video included.
    Fixed
    • Ads no longer hang when the connection drops for a moment.

    Set a limit for every category

    We redesigned the budget from the ground up. You now see at a glance how much of the period is left, you decide how much to spend on each category, and you hear about it before you go over — not once it’s too late.

    New
    • Category limits: say how much you want to spend on groceries, transport or nights out, and see what’s left in each one.
    • We warn you when a category gets close to its limit and when it goes over.
    • Spending pace: you know whether you’re on track or whether, at this rate, you won’t make it to the end of the period.
    • You choose when your budget starts over: every week, every two weeks, every month, every quarter or every year.
    Improved
    • Redesigned budget: everything that matters about the period on a single, far clearer screen.
    • You can ask for the warning from 25% spent, if you’d rather hear about it early.
    • When you log an expense, the categories you use most come up first.
    • Your existing budget adapts on its own — nothing to set up again.
    Fixed
    • If you went a while without opening the app, your budget catches up on its own, including the one for your other currencies.
    • Nothing gets cut off with large system text, and every amount shows with its own currency symbol.

    Your payments log themselves

    The most requested feature is here: SpendlyAI now detects your payments as they happen and turns them into transactions ready for your approval. You have the final say — the app does the rest.

    New
    • Automatic payment detection: on Android, SpendlyAI reads notifications from the banking apps you choose; on iPhone, it captures your Apple Pay purchases and your bank’s SMS messages through Shortcuts.
    • AI turns every detected payment into a transaction with a suggested amount, merchant, account and category — and everything lands in a review inbox: nothing is saved without your approval.
    • Guided setup with in-app video tutorials and automatic verification of every step; a home banner walks you through until it’s ready.
    • On iPhone you can also log a transaction instantly from the Shortcuts app: pick an account and a category and it’s saved without opening SpendlyAI.
    • Share any chart from your analytics as an image, ready to send to anyone.
    Improved
    • On the free plan you can turn detected payments into transactions by watching an ad; with Premium the conversion is automatic.
    • Premium now activates the moment you sign in, no restart needed, and your purchases restore themselves after reinstalling.
    Fixed
    • Captured payments are no longer lost when switching accounts or during cloud sync.
    • Fixed occasional duplicates when several detected payments were processed at once.
    • After reinstalling the app on iPhone, an old session no longer shows up as signed in.

    Transfers beyond your accounts

    You can now record money that leaves or enters SpendlyAI: send money to someone, pay for something, or receive funds from accounts that aren’t in the app — without losing track of your balances.

    New
    • External account in transfers: pick "External account" as the source or destination to record money you send outside the app or receive from it.
    • These transfers only update your own account balance and never count toward your budget or expenses.
    • An info icon in the transfer form explains exactly how external transfers work.
    Improved
    • The AI assistant can now record transfers to and from external accounts for you.
    • Your balance projection now reflects money sent to or received from external accounts.

    This was one of your requests. Keep them coming — they shape every release.

  19. v2.1.8 June 15, 2026

    Your money, in any currency

    SpendlyAI now speaks every currency you do. Manage accounts in different currencies, keep your history accurate, and still see the whole picture in the one currency you think in.

    New
    • Multi-currency accounts: give each account its own currency and track dollars, euros, yen or anything else right alongside your main one.
    • Your totals stay in your main currency, with a clear "In other currencies" breakdown so nothing gets hidden.
    • When you move money between currencies, you set the exchange rate yourself and it’s saved with each transaction and transfer, so your history always matches what really happened.
    • Transfers between accounts in different currencies now let you enter the exact amount that lands in the destination.
    • Per-currency budgets: set a separate budget for each currency you use, with a quick shortcut to create one wherever it’s missing.
    Improved
    • Charts, analytics and trend cards now show each currency with its own symbol, so the numbers always read right.
    • The AI assistant now understands the different currencies you use and answers using the right one.
    • We redesigned the savings pockets list and the transaction filters to make everything easier to scan.
    Fixed
    • Resolved several crashes reported by the community, including the transactions list, the debt calculator and loading your profile photo.
    • Polished the transaction details and fixed the currency code shown on AI cards.
    • The AI assistant now always replies in your language.

    Multi-currency was one of the most requested features, and it’s finally here. Thank you for asking for it and helping shape how it works.

    A new way to share SpendlyAI and get rewarded, a refreshed savings experience, and a long list of fixes shaped by your feedback.

    • Introducing Invite & earn: share your personal code and get a free month of Premium for every friend who subscribes. You’ll find it in Profile, under Invite & earn.
    • Have a friend’s code? Enter it before subscribing and unlock extra Premium time when you join.
    • You can now redeem store promo codes directly inside the app from the subscription screen.
    • You can now set the next yield date for your accounts and savings pockets, so projected earnings match reality.
    • Join our community on Discord straight from the community settings.
    Improved
    • We redesigned the savings pockets metrics with a date-range view, a growth chart, and a clearer breakdown of your deposits and withdrawals.
    • We reworked the financial projection to show your projected assets, upcoming expenses and debts at the end of each period, scoped to the range you choose.
    • Reminders are now scheduled more intelligently so they reach you at the right moment.
    Fixed
    • Fixed an issue where premium access could briefly appear as Free after certain actions, and improved how subscription errors are handled.
    • The transactions list now shows up reliably.
    • Sign-in cancellations from Google and Apple are now shown in your language.
    • Resolved a startup crash related to fonts, plus various visual and stability refinements reported by the community.

    New screens to understand your money day by day and project it forward, with a clearer and more consistent experience across the app.

    • A new financial calendar view to review your month day by day, with the income, expenses and balance for each day.
    • A new financial projection to visualize where your money is heading over the next days, weeks or months.
    • You now get notified when someone comments on your post or when its status changes in Features & Bugs.
    Improved
    • We redesigned the headers in Movements and Analytics so they're clearer and compare your activity against the previous period.
    • We refreshed the charts: in Analytics, the Budget panel now shows your real spending curve against the ideal line to keep you on track with your budget.
    • Small visual polish across the app for a smoother and more consistent experience.

    • Various fixes for issues reported by the community for a more stable app.

    Premium subscription fix

    A quick patch focused on restoring premium access for affected users.

    • Some premium users were seeing their subscription as Free. This release fixes the underlying issue. If your subscription still doesn't show up, please go to My Account → Manage Subscription and tap Restore Purchases.

    Focused improvements around how you pay your credit cards.

    • New dedicated payment screen for credit cards, with a payment options grid, suggested amount, and a clear summary of key dates.
    • The current period billing statement is now generated automatically and regenerates when you change the billing cycle.

    • Upcoming payments view now shows only billed pending amounts, making it cleaner and easier to read.

    • A minor issue introduced by a dependency upgrade.

    • Total patrimony now correctly subtracts credit card debt.

    • A payment was being double-counted on credit card statements, dropping the next period's total payment to zero in some cases.
    • Some credit cards couldn't be deleted properly. Now fixed.

    Smarter credit cards and more flexible planning

    This release brings several meaningful changes that came directly from community feedback.

    New
    • Billing statements for credit cards: SpendlyAI now organizes movements automatically by each cutoff period so you understand exactly what you owe in every cycle.
    • Fixed expenses and recurring incomes are now called scheduled expenses and scheduled incomes, and they can be registered as either recurring or as one-off future entries.
    • Recurring scheduled entries now support an end date, so automatic registration stops when it no longer applies.
    • Free users can now try the AI assistant with limited usage, to get a feel for how it works.
    Improved
    • Installment purchases on credit cards now reserve the full credit limit upfront and release it as you pay each month — much closer to how real banks work.
    • Upcoming payments view is clearer and easier to scan at a glance.
    • Smoother flow for editing existing accounts.
    • Multiple visual and usability refinements across the app.
